On Monday 14th June Stichting Cycling 4 Climate, partnering with bike manufacturer Gazelle and the municipality of Utrecht, is organising the Gazelle 4 Climate tour. Earth’ temperatures are rising, so are the water levels, and biodiversity is tumbling. This is no breaking news, yet still we freeze and wonder what we can do. There are so many things to take into account. It is overwhelming. During the G4C tour you will learn about all sorts of sustainable projects in Utrecht, but our most important message up-front: Pak de fiets – Grab the bike! Every meter counts: for a better climate, for better quality of air, for a healthy mind and a healthy body.

We start around 09:00 at Buurten in de Fabriek with coffee/tea + cake and finish around 13:00 at ANNE with a healthy lunch (not included in ticket fee). Completely corona proof of course.

The first 30 participants receive the inspiring “Dominee van de Duurzaamheid” (in Dutch) van Leen Zevenbergen as a gift!

The ticket fee of €10 per person will go to a good cause. Which one? Well we haven’t made up our minds yet. Any tips? E-mail us!

The stops:

  1. Buurten in de Fabriek – Start location by Park Oog in Al close to the world famous Dafne Schippersbrug.
  2. We Drive Solar –  you can reach anything with the power of the sun. An affordable, clean and modern way of car sharing.
  3. Rijne Energie – the (future) sustainable energy park by and for people in Utrecht.
  4. Brouwerij De Leckere – lekker organic beer brewed with 0% fossil fuel. Located in the Werkspoorkwartier, a new area for sustainability (business) activities.
  5. Tiny Forest UU – 1 of 9 tiny forests in Utrecht. This one is located on the campus (Utrecht Science Park) and managed by the Green Office of Utrecht University.
  6. ANNE (Alle Nederlanders Nieuwe Energie) – a sustainable meeting place in Utrecht: meetings, work spots and events.
