Meet our partner Antea Group!
Last year's Cycling 4 Climate Classic was sponsored by Antea Group, and no fewer than 19 of our colleagues took part. After all, we are not only home to proud engineers, but also to a large group of cycling enthusiasts. The sponsorship and participation fit in well with the important social theme of Sustainability and the sustainability objectives of Antea Group. As an (international) engineering and consultancy firm, we are a leading partner in the development and application of sustainable and integrated solutions in our living environment. We believe in sustainable and innovative services on the one hand and socially responsible business operations on the other.
Sustainable services for climate action
We ensure a climate-resistant and climate-adaptive living environment through our projects. For example, we are working on climate stress tests, predicting and preventing flooding and creating green designs for public spaces. We have also developed the Street Mixer for this purpose. In addition, we aim toreduce CO2 emissions through our projects. We do this on the one hand by supporting our clients in drawing upCO2 footprints and reduction measures for a project. On the other hand, we do this by deploying emission-free or low-emission equipment and more sustainable materials in a project. In addition, through our projects we integrate climate change measures into national policies, strategies and planning. We do this by supporting our clients in drawing up climate policies, targets and action plans.
Socially responsible business
In addition to our projects, we work on climate action from our own business operations. As the first Dutch engineering and consultancy firm, we are part of a worldwide group of leading companies that have opted for ambitious climate action: the Science-Based Target initiative (SBTi). Here, we are committed to limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees, in line with the most recent climate science.
As a national network and project organisation, we travel a lot. We are therefore committed to achieving this goal by drastically reducing our travel footprint - we have implemented a home working policy to this end; by fully electrifying our lease car fleet; and by making other choices in how we work and travel. We are certified at the highest step of the CO2 performance ladder and have been buying 100% green electricity from Dutch wind power for years. In addition, we are committed to making others aware of climate change and inspiring them to take climate action. For example as a partner of Cycling 4 Climate, but also by participating in the 'Business Ambition for 1.5 Degrees' campaign from the Science-Based Targets initiative. In the run-up to COP26, a Climate Action Day was organised on 15 October. Watch the accompanying video for more inspiration and our contribution!
