Following the successful Gazelle 4 Climate ride, we will organise more regional rides in 2022, and namely a Climate bike ride every month in one of the 12 provinces!
We kick off on 12 February in the province of Flevoland. In March, we will visit the province of Friesland with the Winter cycling tour. In the other provinces, in cooperation with the provinces and the IPO, we are organising some short tours with a variant of 25-50 km for the "recreational" cyclist and a longer variant of up to 100 km for the distance cyclist.
As the route passes a number of interesting climate-related projects, participants will see with their own eyes what is already happening in the various provinces in terms of climate adaptation and protection. Of course, the inner man will also be taken care of with local and/or organic snacks along the way. To encourage participants to use public transport, we will ensure that the start and finish locations are close to a train station.
As you've come to expect from us, we're asking participants to assess their footprint and write up a climate resolution prior to the event. This way, we will make even more people aware of their own impact, whether you are a recreational or long distance cyclist.
Curious when we will be visiting your province? Have a quick look here.
In the first half of 2022, we will organise climate tours in the following provinces:
- February: Flevoland
- March: Utrecht
- April: Drenthe
- May: North Holland
- June: North Brabant
The planning for the remaining six months is still in progress.
