The next partner, Antea Group, is an international engineering and consultancy firm that builds a safe, healthy and future-proof living environment. They are also the home of proud engineers and specialists in the field of data, sensoring and IT and a large group of cycling enthusiasts.
One of their most challenging projects was the Ritsumasyl bicycle bridge in Friesland, where they were part of the DRIVE construction team.
Martijn Liefers explains why this project is one for the showcase: "This 66-metre-long swing bridge with a 34-metre-long movable deck consists of 80% sustainable materials such as natural resin and flax. Such a bio-based composite bridge in the public road network is a first for the Netherlands."
The bridge is an important link in the cycle route network between the villages on either side of the canal and was opened by Stientje van Veldhoven, then Minister of Environment, Housing, Infrastructure and Water Management.
